Welcome to TrueNorth Civic AI, a service operated by KAMVantage Consulting, a Canadian-based consulting and technology firm. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TrueNorth municipal chat interface and related services, designed specifically for use within Canadian municipalities.

All data governance, security practices, and service delivery for TrueNorth Civic AI are managed under KAMVantage's operational and compliance framework.

Please read these Terms carefully. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use our services.

You are responsible for your account security and ensuring the information you provide to the municipality is accurate.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

When using the TrueNorth Civic AI platform to interact with municipal services, you agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information about yourself as prompted by the service's registration forms or chat queries.

Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service. Specifically, you agree not to:

  • cancelUpload or transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or libelous.
  • cancelImpersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.

The information provided by TrueNorth Civic AI is generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, the platform may occasionally produce incorrect or biased information. You agree that TrueNorth is not liable for any damages arising from reliance on such information.

Data Sovereignty & Privacy

We are committed to the highest standards of data sovereignty and privacy for Canadian municipalities. Our data storage and encryption infrastructure are exclusively hosted within Canadian borders (Montreal and Toronto). While temporary processing may be globally routed, all data is protected by Canadian-managed encryption keys (CMEK) that never leave Canada.

We adhere strictly to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA) of British Columbia and equivalent municipal privacy standards. Your data is never used to train global AI models and remains under your municipality's jurisdictional control.

Intellectual Property

The TrueNorth platform, including its software, logos, trade names, and proprietary algorithms, is the exclusive property of TrueNorth Civic AI. Users retain ownership of the data and documents they upload to the platform.

TrueNorth grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the platform solely for internal municipal operations.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform at our discretion if you violate these Terms or if your use of the platform poses a security risk to TrueNorth or its partners.

Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia.
